Hoffman Park Trails AT

May 30, 2009 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: high-50s, sunny

Comments:
Woke up EARLY at 0515 to get in a run before we left.

My foot felt "OK" walking around and putting my shoes on but only "so-so" on the run. It actually stung enough on the warm-up that I almost turned back, but I didn't. It SUCKED.

It held up pretty good for my "leisurely" AT on Hoffman: 6:00, 5:55, 5:50. Pace felt easy and breathing was controlled. Pretty good AT.

Felt so-so on the cooldown home, but I was just in survival mode. Felt OK packing up after icing. Had TERRIFIC goodbye "TRANs" made with a mix I picked up on the Range (Barstads). BEST multi-grain mix I've EVER had.

Left at about 930. Got tons of studying done on the way over but I got REALLY DEPRESSED when then foot hurt A TON just sitting in the car. WTF???

Cheered up a bit when we got to Custer. Checked in and set-up at Fort We-Lik-It, then hit Dark Horse pub in Custer for great beer and food.

Pretty good day, glad to have gotten a 1/3rd of the way there in one shot.
