Boston Marathon
10:00 AM. Sleep: 6 hr. No problem getting to the Hopkinton buses, a little chilly in Athlete's Village waiting for the start, saw Chris in the starting corral, had to pee from the start, bathroom break during mile 3, tossed my gloves around the same time, got an adrenaline boost from the Wessley sluts, ran with Chicago Chris for a few miles and caught up a bit, the hills weren't bad at all, expected Heartbreak to be longer, good race except for a terrible finish, I don't know if I hit the ball, just out-ran my legs, or was dehydrated, Chris came up from behind near the finish and gave me a boost, eventually met up with Natalia and left before the bombings, I will never forget this day. Splits: 0:12 (gun-chip), 6:14, 5:50, 6:46, 19:24 (5k), 5:50, 6:04, 5:57, 37:54 (10k), 5:56, 5:56, 5:59, 56:26 (15k), 6:02, 6:04, 5:58, 1:15:10 (20k), 5:56, 1:19:10 (half), 5:57, 6:04, 1:33:50 (25k), 6:07, 6:18, 6:13, 1:53:10 (30k), 6:11, 6:18, 6:26, 2:12:37 (35k), 6:09, 6:27, 6:42, 2:33:15 (40k), 6:57, 7:18, 1:25 (0.2 mi). 392nd of 23,336 (1.7%) overall, 369th of 13,353 (2.8%) male, 301st of 4,614 (6.5%) male under 40.
