Off Day: Emptying out the Locker

May 4, 2013 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Other

Comments:
No run today since we ran last night, which was technically today when we finished... We went down to Veale in the morning for the returners XC meeting. Seniors always leave in grand fashion and it is the last goodbye. All the underclassmen line up and make a tunnel and we head through it out the door. Coach let us talk beforehand and give our last speech. We have been talking a lot the past week. I basically said that in our 4 years, things have changed, and we did a lot of things to turn that around. We switched up, sacrificed, and believe in each other and in coach. It took work, but we got back to nationals. I told them to remember that, and dont stop there. We arnt going to be around to help lead that next year, its their turn. This isnt our team anymore, it is theirs... That sat well. Everyone else had great advice as well. It was sad leaving under the tunnel. As I left, I remembered sitting in the HOF the very first day, for the pizza party the day before camp. I was sitting there quietly, and Steve came up and asked if I was from NY. I said yea, and he said "O shoot Im from Rochester!!" It all started from there.

Went into the locker room to clean out my stuff. I forgot my loop, but I took everything else down. Its time to move on from Case XC/T&F. It is sad since it have been my life for the past 4 years. I lived it and breathed it everyday and it was my identity. It was our identity... That change is a big one. I am so greatful and lucky to have been a part of this program though, and I thing that I have learned and grown so much. Its a pretty amazing thing looking back on it, and I wouldnt have it any other way.
