Nutty hunt

May 7, 2013 (Night)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: high 60s, sunny

Comments:
Dan-O warned us about this hunt; he called it, "The worst run ever". Uh-oh. He alluded to it the week before, saying there'd be some contest to guess what we did on the run, and how it would resemble the beer we'd be having.

Pre-run, he gave us some info: like a GPS route, we'd be "spelling" the name of a beer. UGHZ! So off we went, from his house on the flats of S.Eug.

You might imagine what it'd be like to "spell" letters/words on the run: run down a few blocks, turn...then turn around...then run back...then turn again...and turn around! Over and over!

It was a rough run: I was tired from the tempo, and the constant turns and 180s took their toll. But I kept pretty good tabs on what was going on. In the end, the three of us all, miraculously, guessed parts of it: "Red [hook] esb"

Mercifully, we finished at 7 miles and jogged back to Dan-o's, to drink said beer. Left a bit early, hoping to get to bed early. Hardly worked...

Had to take the tape off my L ankle because it was irritating the skin. Some L lateral toe soreness post-run.
