Exercise Type: Run
Weather: Looked like rain, actually rained for a little bit, 60s
Comments:
I arrived at the American University Milton Greenberg Track at precisely 10:15am, did 4 laps, went through a thorough set of drills and striders, spiked up and got myself to the line with Basset, who would pace (more accurately run in front of) me for three laps. Anthony and Abigail, who had a 21 second mile PR attended as well. I probably wasn't nervous enough, and got out in an apathetic 73, already drifting away from Michael. Trying to focus, I ran another 73, 2:26 followed by a pitiful 76 and then a 72 by myself, finishing in an underwhelming 4:54 (though a personal best). It's not right for me to be mad, but I am--sort of. Even Anthony said he knew there was more there--which was used in my 400 after a couple laps of recovery. Despite Anthony's comments, I can't say I'm fully satisfied with this season. On one hand, I shaved off some more chunks of time in every event, got much closer to the pack in workouts and had the honor of running the 3200m in MAC championships, my favorite moment. On the other hand, I was still not really with the pack, ran alone in nearly every race and was injured for the first workouts. I didn't think it was possible, but I am even more motivated to train this summer. After some time off, of course . . . .
