Golan heights

Comments:
Woke up early and left Jerusalem to travel up Roth to the golan heights. It was a long bus ride but it was nice and enjoyable. Legs got a little cramped up. We did a few small hikes which were good. The landscape was pretty incredible. Walked up a few mountains, which were volcanoes. There were a bunch of cool army outposts at the top of the mountain that got shelled by the Syrian Army. We could actually see Syria from the top of the hill (even if it was cloudy). Ended the day with a river raft down the Jordan river. Out boat wanted to go fast and we won! Ended the night at a kibbutz on the sea of the Galilee.

At the end of the night, Omer came over and chilled with us. It was pretty incredible, I haven't seen him in 6 years. It was like the good old days, but we had a whole lot of caching up to do. I went all the way through IHS and case andhe went through the Army. A lot has changed. Definitely a high light of the trip. At the end of the day I was also grappling with the tough questions and realizations of Israel and Judaism. I realized that I was slipping into a slight no-run depression. I feel very odd, like a piece of my identity is off. I am enjoying my time in Israel and all the cool stuff here, but I am looking forward to get running back into my schedule.
