SEHS turf field "crossfit"!

June 14, 2013 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: high 70s, sunny, nice

Comments:
BUSY day! Worked 'til 11, then went to the U of O to meet with the head of the Athletic Training program, and a honcho in the entire Human Phys department. Talked about teaching options; very cool!

Then, I had PT: he worked on my shoulder blade (to help with my arm swing) and my back.

THEN, I had a haircut "salon date" with Jane (a "sub"-elite runner in town I helped with a couple freebie PT appts); it was awesome: high-end Aveda salon where I got a BEER during my cut! And...for a guy who's been single for 10 months, it's just nice to have a girl touch you for an hour! Serzies. Yeah, it's sad...

THEN, I finally got home and ready to run. But I didn't want to run. I still felt flat, so rather than hammer a track or run junk miles, I went to SEHS and did barefoot laps on the turf, mixing in sprints, drills, dynamic stretches, and push-ups, abs. Did 40min total, which probz had three miles of running.

THEN...went to YMCA for :30 of sauna heat training! Went from "Oh this is fine" to "I'm going to DIE!". It got hot as fuck in there.

Busy day!

Chill night, then I casually, if not reluctantly, opened up "The Game" - the book Cliff loaned me.

FUCKING. PHENOMENAL.

Informative, insightful, hilarious, inspiriting. With only a touch of creep. The cool thing is...it TOTZ ties into the "King, Warrior, Magician, Lover" masculinity notion. A bit of bedtime reading turned into >3hrs and >120 pages!!!

AND...It applies to Western States. BGG will have to wait a week to hear the explanation...
