Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Worked a little late, then finally got out for the run. Did a 2+ mile warm-up (+ push ups) en route to SEHS. Got there and there were a billion (OK, maybe 30-40) middle school kids swarming all over the track, doing endless 100m repeats (in lane one, around the track). Fuck. SO I ran to Jefferson, an extra 1.5mi.
The conditions were pretty good: no more rain, some sun and slight warmth. But what would've been a light crosswind at SEHS was now a head/tail wind, rather hard.
Did a full warm-up because...I felt like shit. Did dynamic stretches and drills, then did a lap of (x4x50m) strides. Then another lap.
Ugh. I felt like shit.
I decided to simply run an uptempo 200 to guage how it felt. 35-36 and felt like shit.
Bagged it. Know when to hold 'em...
This was a "gamble" workout. I do it and the possibilities are:
A.) I run slow and I feel like shit
B.) I run slow but I feel OK
C.) I run slow OR fast and feel OK...THEN feel like shit for 3-4 days.
It wasn't worth the risk. I had a B/C workout last week.
So I jogged back to the car.
Ugh. Oh well...can NOT be taking risks like that, so I think it was a good call.
