Tolman wanted in on Hardesty Wednesday, so I met him in P-Hill and we drove together up there. I thought FOR SURE I'd run faster than last week: it was cooler, AND I popped a zyrtek this AM to knock out any allergies.
I was wrong.
Apparently I'm tired, but we were going slow as shit to keep my HR <150. Wound up with an abysmal 72min ascent - one of my slowest, ever. UGH!
Made up for it with a spirited descent, but I was blowing above 150, up to 160 on the downs. But my priority was to get in one last quad bash before Waldo, and I achieved that. The descent was fun and felt great.
Up: 1:12, HR 147
Down: 36:19, HR 155!
Overall a good run, but damn, this HR training is frustrating. But...I have to trust that it's truly taking into account everything (diet, life/training stress, etc), and be patient.
R achilles was sore again, but not as bad as last week. Need some massage work.
