The Worst Hunt Ever

August 20, 2013 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Pretty tired today at work; a long day. Was looking forward to a chill run in the SE hills, then hanging at Lewis' ManSpace...but as I was driving there, I randomly checked my email to find that Cliff - who chose to lead the hunt - changed the venue, mid-afternoon, to Falling Sky Brewery, near the Whit.

UGHZ.

Drove there, through annoying traffic. We met on the corner, and from there, we ran through more traffic, through the Whit, and onto the concrete River Path. Along the way, Cliff was weaving around, aimlessly, often doubling back on us because we were "running too slow" -- the three of us who ran 62.5 miles each (and Tommy, who ran 32 miles over 8+hrs of sweeping) on Saturday.

After tiring of doing loops around us, he took off and stretched out the pack for a bit, before finally burning off whatever meth he was on, and rejoining the pack at an easy pace. We ran a dead out and back, U-turned at a dead-end, then ran back.

BRUTAL run. I felt like SHIT. Energy was low (like zero carbs and little kcals in general), the legs were heavy and still swollen, and my feet hurt like hell!

Post-run we sat in Falling Sky and drank pitchers of a pretty underwhelming "ISA" - India Session Ale. I hate ISAs, because they're all hops and no malt or alcohol to balance it. Really mediocre.

UGHZ!

Worst Hunt Ever. But...that's all relative. A bad hunt is better than an OK day at work. But...I needed to relax at the ManSpace. Oh well...next week. And now Cliff won't get to lead for another 2+ months.
