Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
OK day of work...pretty good, actually, but still busy! I bet I've had like 2 opening all week! Had to block out 1245 today just to get paperwork done. Still...low stress.
Was going to do "the usual", but then I remembered it's been 5 weeks since my first MAF and I needed to do a redo. So I ran to Amazon.
Conditions (initial, today):
Time of day: 4:30PM, 6PM
Temp: 95F, 75F
Humidity: low, high
Diet: lo-carb, lo-carb
Warm-up: 15min easy, 15min easy
Music: no, yes
Course: adidas bark look, adidas
Shoes: N2s, adidas adizeros
Things were pretty much the same, except the temp/humidity, and music. I knew music would jack the HR a bit, but doing 5x1mi bark loops was too boring and I wanted something to listen to. So...I allowed *a bit* higher HR.
The splits (time, HR)
6:23, 152
6:43, 154
6:51, 154
6:56, 154
7:00, 154
Consistent...ly a bit too high, but I was "OK" with it. Admittedly, my stride felt a lot better, as I'd just started running again that first test. So...it's a lot better, but the real pudding proof will be in 5 weeks from now: will I still improve (e.g. get to low 6:xxs with the same HR in the same conditions)? I could see it continue to go down, but along with cooler temps...
Nevertheless, I feel like I've "turned a corner", post-Waldo, with my aerobic strength. However, I'm still feeling some stiffness, post-Waldo, in my legs...
And the damn hammy is still sore.
Post-run: read some more Noakes, but didn't type anything.
INITIAL SPLITS:
7:07 (149 avg)
7:43 (150)
7:56 (151)
8:05 (151)
8:13 (153)
