7p; WU to River bikepath
2*3mile split tempo w/ 1:00rest, goal 5:20-5:30; splits 5:21 5:23 5:27 (16:13), 5:16 5:31 5:21 (16:10).
CD to Phelps.
Planned on straight 6 mile tempo. To avoid a U-turn at halfway, I took a minute rest. In hindsight, I probably needed the minute rest. Sort of faded at end of 1st half, and on the 5th mile. Pulled it back together for the uphill last mile.
This is between where I need to be (goal race pace 5:15-5:20), and where I thought I was (I feared current date race pace like 5:30+). So I'll take it.
