Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
End of the first week. It was easy since we didnt have lab. We had a reception after seminar and I had coffee duty this week, so I got home a little later. The days are getting shorter and the sun is going down earlier, which makes running nicer, but tougher to see cars. I want to start encorporating some speed and workouts so I can get ready for the PSE 5k and for some other area races. I think that Mondays are a good day for workouts, as well as Thursdays or Fridays. Tues and Wed we have night classes or HW sessions. Today, I did Silver and incorporated a fartlek. (This was the first workout I have done in a long time I realized...) Warm up about 1.5 miles, then did 1 min on 1 min off 7 times, which made up about two miles. I then finished up the rest. Felt good on the fast segments actually. Not that smooth since I havnt got my legs going in a while. Knee was kinda tight as well and popping everyonce and a while. Felt great to get moving though. Finished up as the sun was setting, and the vista over MT Sugarloaf was pretty nice. Still miss those sun sets in Wyoming and Badlands...
Essentials: Stretch, hips, roll
Did a lot of IT band stuff today since it is tight from all the training. Legs felt pretty good other than that though. Pretty tired at the end of this week. Labs and meetings w/ professors is going to make it even more busy. Still gonna train when I can, and once we get into the rhythm it will be all good.
