Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Busy day at work today. Started with the Leadership meeting in the early morning. The theme was pride which was cool and really got people hyped up. It's very much an almost military culture which is interesting. The rest was really dominated by the rod block start up which is going really well. It's amazing how fast they run stuff. A 5700 pound billet in less than 2 minutes.
Then headed back to cold finish. Got samples sent off and caught up with people. That took till lunch. Lunch today was for Mike Ross the sales manager. It was his last day today. He left after the lunch to start his drive to Nebraska. Also it was a couple of the shipping teammates last days as well. Things are changing up. It's gonna take like 6 months to replace Mike so in that time our division manager is moving over to take Mike's spot in sales. The environmental manager is then going to slide over to get experience managing our division. To add to that unrelatedly our production manager is going to be starting a full time project to update one of the coil lines so while he's gone a production lead is stepping up for him. Quite the changes!
In the afternoon I did some trainings then got a sample cut for some hard material that we've been having trouble with. Lastly I found out today that I'm gonna take over the straightness stuff from our end. So it'll be my project which will keep me busy especially since we just started running some material from Nebraska and we'll be wanting to learn about that.
Definitely the busy day.
There was some type of family run on the rail trail today which made for a lot of traffic. It was nice to see all the kids out and about though. Hopefully they'll be motivated to become nasty cross and track runners in the future.
