Comments:
I felt good, my legs were tired and my foot was less than perfect, but it was an improvement and is now my longest run of the summer. Everything is on the up and up. I saw these ducks, at least I thought they were ducks, but I was confused because usually when you see a family of ducks there's a mother and several smaller ones behind her that are all that sort of that brown color, but this family had a mother with three birds following her in line, but they were all of almost equal size, and they were completely white. The mother was your typical duck color, brown with a shiny few feathers of a green or blue. Anyway, this confused me; I have never seen this before, or at least if I have, I don't remember it. Come to think of it the only really purely white birds I have seen are swans and those ones with the long necks that are always walking around brooks and marshes looking for fish to eat, but I'm quite sure these were neither. I suppose doves can be completely white, but these were considerable larger. If anyone has any ideas let me know. It was most unusual because these birds, which I am quite sure are not common ducks were following a mother duck just as baby ducks usually do, but they were, you know, full grown and stuff. I plan to devote a considerable portion of my time to trying to figure out what birds these were because I have concluded that I am not going to be able to stop poverty or bring about world peace in the next few weeks, but considering my considerable mental talents, I think I should be able to figure out what types of birds these were. I could of course try to learn a language, practice for the LSAT or read ahead for my classes this semester, but I would prefer to be able to show up for pre-season and say: ha, Rob, you did some stupid thing with crayfish or whatever, Pat, you messed around with lights and mirrors in some basement, Jon, you played with fish, Matt, you went to France, Will, you worked at some fast food place and Riley, you did whatever it is that liberal hippies from Kansas do, but I, I correctly identified a bird I saw on a run. This would please me, and I think I should feel quite accomplished if I am able to manage it. However, it is far more likely that I shall forget about writing this post at all in the next couple hours and thus will only be able to remark upon remembering it that i wasted several of your summer minutes with an aimless story about some weird ducks while you could have been solving cancer or one of those big important problems that scientists and liberals obsess over, but instead we still have cancer, North Korea is still about to start a nuclear war, we're still killing people in half the countries in the middle east, and because you read this instead of figuring those things out, all of the worlds problems are now your faults, congratulations.
Well, those are 5 minutes of my life I'm never getting back, I have no idea why I just typed all that, but as this chef I used to work with liked to say, whateversville.
