Exercise Type: Run
Weather: high 50s, windy
Comments:
OK day at work - a little tired. Made it without coffee - more by schedule than by choice - just didn't have time to get there.
Wanted to run 10 after work, but was feeling sluggish, so when I got near my old house, I turned back and cut it short a mile.
The stride felt pretty good, and I ran without the SI belt (forgot it). Really worked on the hip/pelvic extension on a firm/flexed spine, though I could feel (via back soreness), when I started "going backwards" with my trunk.
Pace was sub-7. Man this feels hard. My HR was controlled (consistent 150, with only blips above), but mechanically it felt rough. Also, the more I cross train, the stiffer I feel, which is super annoying.
BIG FOCUS today on going "whole foot" On the R. This is THE CAUSE of all my issues, dating back to 2002, so it's no surprise that it could ultimately be the solution. So was focusing on getting the midfoot and arch to actually engage with the ground.
