Weather: cold 30s -> 50s
Comments:
Crazy-ass run with Clarkie. Quick summary:
Ran up from Bear TH to the plateau, then ran a straight-shot non-trail across the plateau, perpendicular to 20-30mph winds. Cold as shit. Sumitted two minor rockpile peaks, then decided to not backtrack and instead descend what turned out to be a 3000' drainage. SUPER-sketchy: ice, then steep piles of boulders.
Once at the creek, we 'schwacked through the woods trying to find a lake+trail. We didn't go deep enough but thankfully, by 330p and low on everything, ran into another trail.
Hauled ass the last 1+hr plus, anaerobic, back to the car.
Good adventure and learning experience, but too sketchy to want to replicate. Beers in Estes following.
