Aborted MAF

October 17, 2013 (Night)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 60, nice, slight breeze

Comments:
I haven't done a MAF test in about six weeks, so I figured it was time.

Felt pretty good at work today, but felt a little "high strung". No allergy meds, but I did take some albuterol puffs beforehand.

I knew it'd be rough on the warm-up, when I was pegging in the 140s, going like 730s. Ugh. Did x4 strides, then went for it.

The results sucked. I was slow, and the HR high:

6:41/155
6:49/156
6:58/156

After the 3rd, I bagged it. Useless.

This sucks. I'm not sure what's going on:

- Allergens? I later found out that it's HELLA-smokey in EUG right now - people burning leaves and shit.
- High HR from the inhalar?
- Stress?
- Overtraining??

Either way, it sucked. I jogged home at high 7s pace and my HR was still 14x. Dumb.

L hamstring was not great, but I forgot to "pull" my L foot beneath me as well as I did yesterday.

On the bright side, I did have a fun time out with Kimber. Pretty blase` chats about running and work 'til I busted out "The Cube Test" and some other fun games. Man, those are so insightful! We had more fun - and I learned more about her - with that stuff that I could've ever done with simple "bar banter". Truly meaningful stuff.
