October 27, 2013 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: 50 --> 40F, hard rain, hard wind
Comments:
Slept it somewhat, then met Sarah to work on some running stuff. Talked a bit, then took her to the track. After working pawback and arms, her stride looked phenomenal! The coolest part was how amazed she was at how it felt - she almost started crying! Special.
After that, I drove her to her mom's house. She really wanted me to come in and meet her parents and see the house ("Ruh-really, bro?"), but I declined. I was in a hurry to get to Hardesty...but...it just seemed weird.
She was telling me earlier about mtn biking around Waldo "with Colby" (who, I found on the interwebs, she married like in '06, but I have no idea if they're still hitched or not)...but I know there's "some dude". Such a weird, "ambiguous" situation. So I figured, between Teresa (and now Chelsea, potentially), I have enough weird drama in my life.

"HEY, JERR!"
The plan was to go balls-out and do the standard 3hr/18mi triangle Hardesty loop. I felt good - and did LOTS of measures to ensure efficiency:
- did glut ex's to make sure I was firing them
- stretched and massaged out (w/baseball) my hams
- did some nerve stretches
AND, the biggest one: SIDE-SKIPS
Totz forgot about these - they're such a good way at working trunk/hip symmetry. I was so good at doing them in the spring, then lost it since WS. After doing a bunch w/Sara in the AM and pre-run, I could totally feel an enhanced R push-off.
Wore the HRM, but my HR was sky-high. Might be due to staying up til 2:45, or the stress of the impending Chelsea Chatz. But either way it was - halfway through - OVER 160, going slow as shit. I'm not sure what to make of it. But I can't be so dogmatic about it. So I just ran slow. It took me 74:xx to get up (+10 over par for a non-HR regulated ascent), but it felt easy and great!
A mile from the top the weather went from warm rain to cold, hard rain and hard wind. Ugh. That turned doubt into certainty that I'd only go up/down.
Good descent, but wow, the qwaadz felt it. Really worked hard at loading the hips, but still...
Good to be back. Iced the hams afterward. Didn't feel too bad. I think I need to remember classic sports med concepts: that sometimes muscles get dysfunctional (tight, stiff, weak) and need stretching, strengthening, and icing to get over the hump.
