Mr Madson Hunt

November 5, 2013 (Night)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
UGH day. Picked up a cold yesterday; woke up with a sore throat and felt "down" all day. On top of that, I was off allergy meds, so not sure how that affected it.

TIRED. Thought about doing some pre-running, but figured it's time for a down-day. Worked on the column for an hour, then drove to Lewis'. Felt like I had a light fever.

Mr Madson led the first total-darkness hunt of '13-14, with headlamps, and it was an easy one today! Ran down to Amazon, then up Headwaters, but only to Powerline (not the climb), and ran that south for 1/4mi, before looping back north. We then cut through a school heading near LB's old place.

I was dragging; in general, I'm running the ups slow, but today, I felt like shit so I fell way back. As we ran through this school area, my headlamp caught sight of a ball! It was a mini-basketball, fully pumped! So, 50m back from everyone else, I started running/dribbling at the same time, which got the guys' attention, as we ran through a playground hoop court. So they stopped and I said, "Hey, let's play a pick-up game!"

So we did! Oh shit, did we suck! First off, the ball was tiny (and over-inflated); it was wet, and dark. We tried to play w/headlamps, but that blinded us, so we went without. First team to 5.

My team:

Me*
Lewis*
Mr Roberts

vs

Cliff*
Eric
Mr Madson*

(*denotes really sucking at basketball)

We played to 5, and the only good player was Mr Roberts (at 6'4"). It took a good 15min to get to 5 points. I was shitty, but I hit the game-winner! HA! It was fun, and it lifted my spirits.

Jogged easy back to Lewis', witnessing a light/mild car-on-bike collision, but no harm done.

Good, easy run. I needed it. L hamstring was a little iffy, don't know why...
