Hardesty + Sawtooth + Goodman w/lc

November 10, 2013 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 50->60 and sunny! Crazy nice

Comments:
Slept in a bit, then met lc at his house to go run Hardesty. Didn't feel too worn down, but I wish I hadn't stayed out that late.

Dripped some BGD brew for the ride over. It was so nice, and no gunshots, so we decided to forgo the Triangle and do the big loop instead, which I hadn't done since the spring.

No HRM again today, and I decided I'd be "OK" with pushing the HR toward VT (<160) instead of MAF (150). Felt a little more "real", and it was tough at times. Not much talking. Nonetheless, it still took a dismal 69:0x to get up there. Ugh.

From there Lewis led along Sawtooth and I routinely fell back on every climb; not to stay at MAF, but just to stay under VT! Damn. Couldn't complain too much, because it was so damn nice! Pure sun on the open ridge toward June.

We stopped quick to drink from the "lost creek" - one of the best springs ever, then had a nice descent to the road.

The road felt fast, but I was annoying that it was only 19:30 (in my heyday, I rolled low 18s); from there we had a pretty solid, BEAUTIFUL autumn-leaved run on Goodman, with some shuffle climbs back to the car.

From there, we did my new cooldown: 6ish min of shuffle run, then about 10min of walking, with Oakshire Espresso Stouts in hand.

Good run, but I was wiped out!

Rest of the day: a lot of carb cravings, mostly due to going to the well on Saturday and likely some on Sunday. I *think* this is OK.

Napped for an hr when I got home, then decided to go to church. I was a little bummed that it wasn't that great: couldn't really hear the readings well, and the sermon/homily was merely an appeal to volunteer for the church. Uninspiring.

I hate to admit it, but I was hoping to see Chelsea there. She and I had emailed a bit this week, she asking questions about that "life teen" mass and whether it'd be solid for kids. I said it wasn't really, but...I was hoping to see her there. Weird...

A lot of mixed emotions with her...
