Slept IN today, 'til like 1130! It was a late night. There were group plans to run Mt Pisgah - a park I'd never been to - but that was at 730am and there was no f-ing way that was happening.
Got up, ate breakfast, then, I just...sat around. Just needed to "not do anything for a while". Finally around 2:30 I got moving; talked to mom, cleaned up a bit, then finally got out for a run around 3:45.
Decided to do a long, flat run instead of something hilly; Matt said he wanted to do Pisgah Sunday. Ran from my place, through PRE, then kept going, all the way to a sweet little park along the Springfield Willamette called Dorris Ranch - an old (and still functioning) nut tree farm. Nice "trails" (gravel or mud) around there, but they just built a paved connector to another river path (where I ran that 15K in February). So I ran all the way to to that 15K course, about 7.5 mi, then came back.
First few miles...felt like CRAP! Then, I just gradually felt better and better. Was going 8:00 then cut that to an effortless 7:00 pace on the 2nd half.
REALLY focused on the L shoulder blade. That's everything: if I do that, my R push off is better, trunk is better, L leg landing is better. But it's still locked up. Set my watch timer to beep every ~5min to remind me to pump it. Worked pretty well.
After that, got back and cleaned up and went to Matt's to watch The Fucking Tree get beat by USC! Fuck yeah, that was a great shit-burger! Stayed at Matt's til 10ish, then came out and dicked around 'til after midnight. Got really drawn into my pre-2008 FB page - some old, old shit in there. Lots of memories, of various value...
