Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 50, light mist, dark

Comments:
Good day today; could NOT believe how well I slept last night, and I only got about 7hrs. Didn't really need coffee ("I OVERDO the coffee...it STAYS WITH ME..."), but did get a nug of americano from STARBZ at noon. Had some general fatigue from the 3+hr run yesterday, but felt a TON better.

Got home, read the wisdom from BGD, then took off for the run. I lifted at lunch, which included some light jogging on our 50m indoor runway, and that felt good.

Still no HRM - REI fucked it up, so it could be awhile. Jogged easy toward Alton Baker. About 4min into the run my L leg started to ache...and ACHE! Thought it was a wave of hamstring soreness, but FUCK! It was NERVE. This was weird, because my back seemed fine. I had to stop and walk. Had a TON of nerve tension in the left leg. Tried to stretch and it was mega-tight. Ran again, BAD again. F! So now I'm on the DeFazio Bridge, and I get on all 4's and mobilize my back in the rain on the pedestrian bridge. That seemed to work, because it was 90% better upon resumption, then 99% better the rest of the run! BUT...then my R low back hurt (on and off pangs).

Damn! Once again, JUST as I was about to proclaim victory on my back, it acts up. Must've been something about that crazy Pisgah run. I know a lot of it is my trunk form, still - I'm STILL too "upright" - it's a major project. It's interesting watching "Race for the Soul" to see Jurek and Twiet come into the stadium and how good/"trunk forward" their strides are, at 100.0 miles.

Spent the middling parts of my run, besides form focus, on BREATHING. Tried to do "four steps in, four out" breathing - which required SUPER deep breaths and a pace >7:30. Also, the better trunk form I had (more relaxed fwd), the easier the breathing. Did that for about 4 miles in the middle of the run, but terminated when I ran up the big hill to PRE's rock.

Overall GOOD run; kept it easy, felt good (but sluggish the last 2), but overall a TON better than when I was huffing dust mite poop all night!

Post-run: had a podcast chat with Condit, then called BGD. THEN, after watching the penultimate episode of "Breaking Bad", starting writing my letter - the Last One - to Chelsea...
