November 28, 2013 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Woke up early for the Turkey Trot this morning. As usual, a bunch of IHS people were meeting up to run it. Its always a good time. It was very cold this morning though. I bundled up, got there pretty early. Got to hang around and talk before the race. No need for a warm up we all just lined up and went. Dan and Matt and Liam all were gunning for the front like they always do. I just stuck back and ran with Ari. We went out at a good pace. The hill on Remington was frozen solid and tough to run up since it was all bunched up. I was pretty winded at the top. We got to recover along sunset and down Remington. I was honestly pretty winded in Stewart Park and the golf course as well, especially because the wind was whipping. The Bird Sanctuary was flooded and frozen over. Ran right through the ice and my feet got soaked. It was terrible at first but that was near the end so we just booked it in and went inside to warm up. I was 2:02 off my predicted time of 44:00. I guessed the same time last year, and ran a bit quicker, around 39:00 minutes. Ari and I ran the exact same time last year too haha.
Essentials: Stretch
Stretched in activities for a while then just chatted. The school bells went off for 3rd period I believe. It spooked all of us. It has been a while since we heard those. Good run overall. Legs and ankle felt good, but I felt very slow, and kinda outta shape, which isnt great. Still thankful that I got to get in a good run with some old friends.
