The Serf, south on Park to South Shore to Whittier to Olin to Midland to Fish Hatchery Rd south to Capital City Trail to Lake Farm preserve, back via John Nolen to SW Bike Path to the Serf -

Today I decided to map out a long run about as close as completely new as I can get running from campus along a state park bike trail south of the city. I had originally planned to run earlier but decided I'd rather eat lunch, so this ended up getting pushed back as late as it could and still be in daylight. I was quite glad I did because the bike path was still icy in numerous places, particularly whenever it went in the woods, and it definitely needed those extra 4 hours to thaw more. The pace ended up being surprisingly normal given how much I had to slow down on icy sections. My stomach was burning mildly but not enough to ruin the run. This ended up turning out pretty well. It's always a good run when you get to wear shorts in January in Wisconsin! That doesn't happen very often. This is a route that will probably end up being repeated in some capacity once the weather gets better.
