OFF #3

January 14, 2014 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Other

Comments:
It was great to wake up with Chels today. On top of that we shared a coffee and a randomly good convo before I took off back to my apt to start my day.

Pretty good day at work: nice 90-minute opening in the mid-morning. Some good news: been getting some more cred from the URP podcast, in the form of some more gait evals, so that's nice.

Speaking of, this morning I mentioned to Chels when we were talking about work stuff that we should have a "money talk". My mom was (being a bit of a SAUSY B) asking about Chels' finances, stating, "Well I bet she doesn't make that much money teaching yoga". I explained she *owned* the studio. My mom countered with the fact her friend Lori owns a salon/spa in River Falls and doesn't bank a ton. I explained that Eugene (pop 200,000) is a little different than rural Wisconsin.

Anyway, I told Chels that maybe we should have a "money talk", disclosing what we've got going on. I reckon, if we're getting serious, we might as well get SERZ about our own financial baggage.

So today, with the extra time, I spelled out to her my revenue, expendatures, assets, debts. It's solid, and getting better. And shit, it will be great in a year+ when one loan is all paid, then REALLY good when my student loans are done.

Chels emailed me back with her own assessment: she, basically earns nearly 50% MORE than I do, with zero of that in the form of child support or alimony (of which she gets none). WOW. I'm...impressed. And relieved. $$$ was a big concern when I was with Britt, because she was neither financial secure or responsible. Interesting stuff. That she makes that and doesn't like to spend it (as she's stated to me, and proven) is definitely a relief.

No physical activity again today. I should be doing some stretching and tissue work, but I let it slide. Got a bunch of stuff done tonight. No hunt (or social) tonight - will resume that next week (at least the social).
