I had gotten excited to go to practice, so much so that I failed to see that they had canceled school. In my defense, they normally have the separate window that pops up on the website, but today they just had something in the bottom corner, I later found. With the roads quite clear at 7:30, I drove all the way there to find an empty building. I came back, went back to sleep for four hours and made new plans for training. Wanting a quality day, but knowing the conditions would inhibit that, I came up with a scheme. I would run to the country club's gym, take off my sweats, run on the treadmill there, do some strength work and run back home. All things considered it worked out pretty well. I had the incline at 5.5 degrees at one point and kept it there for 5 minutes. Otherwise, the time spent on the treadmill was flat. At the gym I did slow pushups for 2:00, the squat-pushup progression to 10, 2-minute flutter kicks, 40 stationery lunges (10 forwards and backwards per leg), and 30 Apolo Ohno drills per leg. I ran home slightly faster because of the lack of uphill. Seeing no feasible way for striders, I did four sets of high knees for 1-minute with a 30 second rest in between each.
