Hardesty + Sawtooth + Goodman

February 16, 2014 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: high 30s-50

Comments:
Met at LC's to run Hardesty, my first in maybe 3 months?

In attendance: LC, Dan-O, Mr Roberts.

EASY run, which was good. I felt OK, but, for some reason, decided I'd do a "deprivation run" to be sure I was burning fat:

- no breakfast (other than heavy cream in some coffee and tea - maybe 200cals worth)
- no food on the run

Did a abysmal :74 ascent with pretty good footing, but again, tough to keep the effort easy. Then a pretty solid ridgeline through an inch of new powder. Lewis was running w/HR discipline, which kept things easy.

Stopped for a bit of water at The Creek, then continued on the descent. Lewis went long to Eagle's Rest while the rest of us did the standard descent. I pushed the descent to work on stride/forward trunk and got separation from Dan-o/Mr Roberts. Only split 19:30 for that 3 miles...

Went EASY on Goodman, which was in rough shape: trees down, literally a RIVER's worth of water (mid-calf) at some points. Kept the effort super easy.

Mechanics: big time focus on FORWARD arm swing! Making sure I keep my trunk forward but also getting full stab on the R side. Interesting. Also big emphasis on hip hinge, especially on downhills.

Got done in about 3:10 or :15 (a May, pre-WS split w/out HR discipline is about 2:5x), then I ran super-easy :10 in the parking lot for cooldown.

Wore the Speedcross which was great for mud but SUCKED with hard gravel rocks! Sore feet!

Sunday night: met up with Chels to go to church. Great mass! After that we came home and finished "Valentine's Day".

...but she's been acting "off" like, most of the weekend. It's weird. Distant. Less engaging, less affectionate... Something's up, but I didn't push it... Ugh. :-/
