Bier Stein/Pliny Hunt

February 25, 2014 (Night)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 50s, dry

Comments:
SUPER-TIRED today. Didn't sleep that well at Chels', "anticipating" the AM run. So I was up at 0500, and had a long day at work. Was not super-pumped to run with the group tonight, but Emily had a surprise route in mind, where she only said, "Bring an I.D". So the assumption was that we'd be going to a bar.

Ran west downhill, then down along the Rexius trail, which was intermittently swamped/squishy. I felt...OFF. Even though I went before the run, I had to deuce BAD, so when I fell back, I ducked into the woods besides Amazon Creek and dumped a load! Whew.

Caught up to the gang at Martin St, and we turned back and looped back on the trail. Thought we might be going to Highlands, but we continued south back to Amazon Park, then onto Willamette...into town.

Pretty sure we were headed to the Stein and, sure enough, we did. Turns out, it was "Pliny the Younger" day at Bier Stein. I guess this is a super-rare beer - "only one keg in Eugene". Emily had to buy tickets to get us beers (3 total), so we shared 3x12oz Plinys amongst the 7 of us. For all the hype, it was pretty damn good!

After that, we jogged back to Lewis'. LONG hunt: 9 miles and close to two hours with the stop!

Was planning on staying at Chels', but I didn't finish my yard waste 'til like 830 and she was going to bed, so I stayed at my place.

Feet were OK...turned out that my calves were SOO tight it was stiffening up the feet. I stretched 'em a ton and the feet were feeling a bit better.
