BIG PT session again tonight. The "hamstring" (/"Korea!") pain? Fucking totally locked-up SI joint. It figures, because it's ACHED LIKE A SONOFABITCH -- so much, so easily, that it couldn't be a muscle. However, the hamstring does get irritated when it's trying it's damnedest to extend the pelvis. Pre-PT, I could tell it wasn't moving as I tried to do some bent knee hip extensions at lunch.
Mike, his resident Beth, and a PT student Amanda were ALL working on me, from 5:15 to nearly 6:30. I *think* (/hope!) that it's been locked up for over two weeks (since it was bad all of last week+, and Mike didn't work on it then). That means that I *have* actually improved my L leg stability. Mike said that it was way better (single leg hopping, etc), so that is encouraging. In theory: if I can KEEP my stride normal (e.g. good strong R hip extension, and strong/soft/lateral L foot landing), then it won't keep fucking up! And maybe it'll go away!! Mike is making me wear an SI brace for the next few days, which will keep things moving/stable/aligned.
It felt SO much different walking/jogging that after the session, I went out in the darkness of Junction City to run a mile+. Felt GREAT. Kind of fun to run in JC, as I used to do a fast 10K in the country out there. Ran a bit of the start/finish straight, then got back to my truck.
Got to Chels' house and she made us an awesome chicken/spuds dinner w/salad. SO GOOD, and I was starved as shit! Had a nice convo, then watched an episode of "DeGrassi" before "bed" (in bed by 8:45, "asleep" by 9:15 B-).
Very encouraged by today...and hopeful that the miles will start feeling better.
