March 3, 2014 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: Ground utterly covered in snow outside, 72 and dim inside

Comments:
My neighbor, Tracy let me use her treadmill; if ever one could describe a treadmill as cute, this one would fit the bill--tiny (probably four feet long and two feet wide), no bells and whistles, missing part the plastic cover on the front so one could see a lot of the inner mechanical workings. Best of all, it sat in the basement right next to their sliding glass door, so I could look out into the snow-covered, Virginian wilderness. I began slowly and ran 1.92, so it told me, in 15:08, putting the incline at 10% at 10:00 and the speed at 8.0 staying there in until 15:00. I accidentally knocked off the magnet trying bring the incline back down. With my neighbor's help, I straightened it out again and ran for 35:12 (4.77) with a three minute hill at 6% (7.8-8.0) and later a two minute hill at 4% (8.6). None of the inclines felt good, but otherwise I felt as smooth as I could on a treadmill with a relaxed arm carriage and medium length stride. I walked back through the snow to my house and did 30 lunges, 40 pushups (2x20), 300 crunches 3 minute of supermen plus a 1-minute hold, held a pushup in the down position for 1 minute, mountain climbers for 1 minute.
