Exercise Type: Run
Weather: 75, just a little breeze
Comments:
PM at work took longer than expect so I didn't hit the trail til about 1750. I was excited for the AT, which was weird because I had already run, just worked 9.5 hrs, and still mega-trashed. On top of that I felt TIRED on the warm-up. Oh well. 4 strides in the parking lot and I was off.
Felt amazingly good on this AT: the breathing and stride is getting more and more relaxed each time...which is a good thing because my pace certainly isn't improving! Split a 5:42 opener but then somehow sagged in 2-3, where it was a combined 11:43. Eek. However, without really picking it up, I close on the hilly 4th mile for a 5:47. Very pleased
Just a few days removed from the 10K, that's a pretty damn good effort. Moreover, I think that's the longest AT run I've EVER done. Done lots of 3x5K marathon workouts, but nothing longer for a rep. Gonna see about continuing to lengthen that, as indicated by fitness/leg integrity.
Did a west pre loop, then jogged back to work. Quick stretch then drove home.
NO CIRCUITS today; gotta find a better time to get those in.
