March 12, 2014 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: 65, sunny
Comments:
Got to practice late, so only caught some "meet warm-up" instruction, then about 20min of a distance team yoga session. After that, me and one kid (Cian) ran solo.
SUPER-nice out: 65 and sunny. Felt sluggish the first couple miles, then came around. Legs were stiff/sore - still a challenge to run this slow and not beat-up my lower legs. But I'm running faster and faster at this HR.
A year ago, a day like this - warm spring day with trees blooming like crazy - would've been felt horrible, but because of the allergy shots, it's about 75% better. I even got a shot (a high-dose) at 2:30 and still felt pretty good.
Probably won't do any speed until mid/late next week. Then I'll start doing some "EASY" (maybe fast girls?) speed work the week of the 24th, plus maybe two whole progression long-runs, pre-Sonoma.
Slight L hamstring (SIJ) pain early in the run, then good. REALLY focused on R hip extension/pulling the foot beneath.
BUSY day: PT at 6AM, then full day of work, then hauling ass to the allergy place over lunch. The lunch workouts are evaporating. Oh well.
Really missed Chels a lot today. I decided that I DO have to reach out to her, keep contact, and just be sure that she knows I'm here, that I love her, and that I can and WILL be that "rock" for her. This is her deal, ultimately -- her fear/her feelings of rejection that *I* created -- so I need to do everything I can to show I'm here and that I accept her, no matter what.
Sent her a quick text tonight, after I finally got home, to check in. She wrote back, but I didn't text-fest.
Next Monday is the 1-yr anniversary of me going back to yoga (after a 4-month absence) and seeing her. That was such a pivotal moment in our relationship: had I not seen her there, I'm not sure I ever would have again. I intend to reach out to her again on that day.
