Marist Dual

May 7, 2014 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 70, nice

Comments:
Meet at Marist this afternoon. I felt like CRAP that afternoon: just low energy, and a moderate amount of "anxiousness", dunno why.

The guys were supposed to do a two mile tempo, pre-(easy) race, so I was hoping to get some pre-race tempo, myself. Ran "easy" with Vince, but it was anything but: we were rolling 7-flat (as he was already warmed up, and Jeff wanted a brisk 20 minutes to test his shin). My HR was spiking into the 150s, sheesh! And, I felt like garbage.

Vince is another awesome kid: hard-working freshman (who looks about 18), and - like many guys before him - super-dedicated and just a sponge for improvement. We talked about improving his cadence to decrease his shin pain.

After we got back to the meet, I was questionable about a tempo. When I found out Eli wasn't doing a tempo, I went solo...but I felt SO SHITTY that all I did was jog at 9-minute pace, which was still like 12x HR. UGH.

Watched a few more races, and helped stretch out Mason, who was SUPER-stiff for some reason. Then I watched Sara - MY patient, our star runner, who'd disappeared after being injured ALL season - re-appear at this meet...and LIMP through a 10:40 3K, alone. It was a valiant effort, but super-annoying. I'm pissed at her dad (who ignored my pleas to return to therapy so I could treat her), and annoyed at Jeff for keeping me out of the loop of her rehab/cross-training. What a fucking waste.

Right after the 3K, I drove home.
