June 1, 2014 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Getting warmer today, but not scorching. Sun out, absolutely beautiful weather, really looking forward to a run. Woke up with a headache and felt sluggish this morning. Got woken up in the middle of the night by the stupid cat, she would not shut the fuck up. Makes me miss having Negus around... Anyways headed out towards the woods in the afternoon. Started out slow because I was feeling low energy. Worked into it though thanks to the fresh air and the nice breeze. Took a pit stop at the field. I really noticed how all the greenery is back and how lush the woods are. Looks a lot different then this winter. Cant believe that summer is here again. Turned around at the stream and started to feel a little quicker. I was cruzing down the path and right as I got back out onto the road, I jumped straight up into the air and off to the side of the trail. At first I didnt know why because it was just instincts, but I looked back and a 3ft long snake was just lying across the trail. I have never seen a snake that big in the Northeast before (To Anna: Its must be nothing compared to those giant snakes down in Australia though) I have no idea what kind of snake it is, but I watched it for a little then ran away because I didnt want to get into a scuffle with it. Ran back at a nice pace and nice rhythm. Everything after that was uneventful compared to my encounter with the snake.
Essentials: Stretch
Stretched outside. The bugs are out in numbers now, viciously attacking anyone who stands still. Got to get used to that. Great stretch though. Legs feeling much smoother.
Actually looking forward to getting back into work and getting some hardcore studying done the next few weeks. I realized today that this summer is going to be A LOT different than last summer, which was I would picture as the best summer ever. As long as I keep doin work and have fun doing it it will all be good.
