Spent a bunch of time stretching this AM: calves, hips, trunk, low back. It's at that point: I'm 36-fucking years old. I can't just hop out of bed at 0500 and go run. And I've realized the consequences to performance IF I don't stretch.
Out I went. A little stiff from the mile, but not bad. Ran 8:30 for the first mile (HR ~115-120), then pushed into "normal running". Got to 7:30mi, then to 7:00 and slight below by the end of the run. The problem was, the HR was pushing 150. I guess this isn't bad - "old school" run style - but notable.
Felt pretty good, and felt great to have "the run done", of course!
Good day at work. Things have finally chilled out with Tanya at work - the kibosh has been put on texting at work, and I've essentially put my phone away, which is good. Gotta reign in and be professional, and, I guess, put my efforts elsewhere.
Speaking of elsewhere, had ANOTHER fun FB chat with The Lick-Tease last night. She initiated, with some random "what boy band are you?" quiz. I was PEHHHSSED to get "98 Degrees"! Ugh! Had some random chats about Nebraska/Iowa, then I commiserated with her about Squamish vs Waldo.
Good stuff, I like that girl. ;-)
