SWIVZ!

June 12, 2014 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Decided to run on the treadmill today to check out my stride. I wasn't really sure what I was looking for...but I was hoping that it would help me avoid any lumbar extension...or other issues.

I ran for a bit, then recorded myself. And what I discovered was, that I was SWIVZ'ing like a motherfucker! My ARMS weren't...but the rest of me was, A TON. And with that, a TON of side to side trunk motion, too!

Sonofabitch! GFD!

This...explains a lot:

- why my back hurts so goddamn much
- why my back so easily "goes out" and I lose hip power
- why my pelvis is a clusterfuck
- why I've been so damned slow!!!

After I saw that, I ran for a total of four miles, with the HRM on. SUPZ focused on arm swing that comes from the shoulder blades instead (to be more BGD-like)...but it was IMPOSSIBLE for me to not swivs/rotate a bit. I bet I fixed it 50%, which is still a lot.

Did a defacto MAF test. I F'd the splits (my watch was being dumb), but they were between 7:0x and 7:2x. Solid at 132 HR! Helps to NOT swivz!!!

The legs were cashed pretty hard from last night's run, but no pollen helped this run.

Didn't run again, because I had counseling after work, then I had to write...more...again. Good counseling sesh: got to vent about coaching (as Scott's stepdaughter is on the team!), which was good. Talked about how I went to yoga to visit Chelsea. It was hilarious, I was just STARTING to tell him and he blurts out, "OH, JOE!". AHAHA! Love this guy. He had some good insights about HER reaction: that she was mad because I FORCED her to deal with her feelings on our break-up...and mistakes SHE made. This was a fascinating interpretation, because Chels said *multiple times*, "Why did you have to be so CLOSE?" Physically, and metaphorically.

We talked about my compulsion to help her. I'm not sure if it's *because* she's like my mom...or what, but, I guess I do. He told some personal stories about how, "at age 71, I'm still dealing with stuff from my mom". Good stuff.

Wrote a bit (but did other time-suckers), then didn't get home 'til after 9. Gotta wrap this assignment already!!
