Weird day

June 14, 2014 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Woke up VERY TIRED from last night. Slept 'til 9 (after bed at 2), then got up, broke the fast, then headed to Dan-o's to head to Bristow for some trail work.

We helped out OD and Stephan on their Elijah Bristow 24 course. I opted, last week, to run the 6-hour race on this 1.05-mile course! So we did a bunch of trimming on this low-country, wooded, grassy riverside course. Wasn't too hard. Was out there for several hours, then headed back to town.

I was SO TIRED and, of course, got shellacked by pollen, so I took a nap, then reluctantly got out for a run.

Even though the stride is "turning around", it's still frustrating and I don't have a ton of confidence that when I go for a run, that it will FEEL good. That's tough.

But thankfully...this one felt pretty good. Started easy, then REALLY worked on the quick arms and - as much as possible - to be strong through the trunk and not over-SwivZ! It's SO HARD.

I was three miles into my run when, randomly, I ran pretty much head-long into Britt. She had 'phones in and sheepishly waved. As did I. And that was that.

Side note: last weekend? Saturday? CRAZY night. But inclusive in that was a random facebook message FROM BRITT. But all it was, was the letter, "Z". Classic Britt move: accidentally sending me a message. Nonetheless, it was weird to see her, but..."OK".

Ran along, around PRE. It was crazy: when I got my stride going: fast, strong arms with "less" trunk motion....it felt like I was running on a people-mover flat escalators! I was FLYIN'! Shit, man, this is what running is supposed to be! Really tired to "be like BGD", which is a (slightly too much) strong trunk with quick arms and legs.

The pace was solid, but the HR was elevated. Combo of "having to try" and pollen, I'm sure.

Saturday night: Mr Roberts' actual going away fest. Since I was pollenated, slightly hungover, and caffeine-free, it was a mellow night. Fun, but no crazyness. Home before 11.
