Had a good game today. HUGE storms were rolling in, enough to postpone fireworks till saturday. How unAmerican... Anyways we were still on. Both teams had shortages of players because of the holiday. We made it work. The whole game the clouds kept getting worse and worse. First dark clouds, then thunder, then lighting in the distance... We started off playing awesome scoring runs. We were ahead at one point!!! Then, they started to even the score. We made a lot of silly plays in the outfield, which let them get extra bases. If we want to win, we need to clean that up. I was pitching really good, but the Asian girls on their team were not having it, and I ended up pitching like 20 pitches to them before they would even swing. As the weather got worse, I sped up the game so we didnt get zapped, and our team couldnt really keep up. Made a bunch of errors and the other team took advantage. We couldnt play the last half inning to try and rally since the storm was so close. We just made it. All hell broke loose once we drove back through Amherst Center. Most lighting I have seen in a while, reminded me of one of those freak storms that comes of the lake, but without the hail. So so much lighting and it was close! Also a bunch of downed trees and flooding. There was a downed tree on 116 as we were driving back. I called it into 911! The dispatcher seemed very frustrated because a lot of people were calling in. She yelled "OK We have a lot of calls coming in so you need to hold on a sec" I said "Oh sorry", but she wasnt talking to me. Kinda awkward... Anyways the streets are covered in tree branches and a bunch of trees fell down and there are some flooded parts. All in like 20 minutes. Good thing we ended early. Sad we didnt get the win but it just wasnt stacked in our favor, and we didnt take advantage of it. Still had fun. Legs are sore, quad felt a little strained when I was rounding the bases, and my arm is sore from hitting. Now we have the real tough part of the schedule, but we are getting so much better. Got to keep grindin!
