July 9, 2014 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: 90? HOT AS HELL
Comments:
Didn't feel like driving all the way out to Hardesty, so I decided to run some Pisgah repeats instead.
Not a great decision.
It was HOT out there, with ZERO shade. Did a couple miles on the flat to "warm up" but that only served to heat me up too much. From there, it was blasting up the furnace.
The HR was outrageous from the start, and by the second, my legs were thrashed from the effort and heat. There was zero breeze because the "mountain" blocked it, and I swear the gravel retained and reflected the heat. It was brutal.
I wanted three repeats, but I'm not sure I could've hiked a third. Walked around for a good :15 just to get the HR <100.
