Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Waited till after dinner to run. Mostly because it was so hot and muggy. Still in the 80s into the evening, did not want to go out there and suffer. I made it out anyways. I knew some rain was coming, but I didnt really look at the radar that closely. I did look at the clouds when I got out there, and I could see the front coming over the edge of the valley. It was coming right towards me, and it was moving fast. It kinda creeped me out actually. Once I got onto Russell, I picked it up, consciously and unconsciously. When a storm like that is bearing down on you, you run like hell. I picked it up a lot, especially in the parts with no trees, because I could hear thunder rolling in. Felt good I was cutting it down way faster than I have in a while and it felt liberating to just burn down the road like that. Right as I got onto Old Amherst Rd, the sky opened up and it started to downpour. It was coming down hard. I got instantly soaked and the puddles started pooing up. I basically ran right into the front. Decent timing cause if I was out farther I would have been screwed since my shoes were water logged almost instantly. It was pretty liberating to be in the rain like that though. Felt good. I slowed down a lot on the way back since my stomach was starting to cramp up a little bit, probably from the pace change.
Essentials: Stretch
I dried off and then jumped right into the shower because I didnt want to be soaked and get water everywhere. I also just straight up forgot to stretch, cause that was on my mind. Stretched after the shower though. Wasnt a great stretch but it was a good run.
