July 23, 2014 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: Very hot at the beginning, 94 but not so bad once we started
Comments:
I hurried to drop my parking application at GDS with low fuel. When I first started driving my dad informed me that parking on a slope can alter the appearance of the fuel gauge. The warning light came on and the pump did not work, but by the time I resolved to try another pump, the needle had reverted to its previous position! In short, I was late. I did four laps around the STA lacrosse practice field and jogged back to my car at the end, allowing me to add the warmup. I did leg swings and the remaining dynamics, then two sets of 50 dead bugs, one set of sixty and two sets of the pushup progression with three of everything. We took Mass to Embassy circle to Glover across Mass again to Wisconsin and back to STA. It was truly an easy run until perhaps the last ten minutes--I maintained a full fledged conversation with Stats II. Heel toe walks, clams, reverse clams, the backwards, diagonal leg lifts that Boardman calls "Jane Fondas." 150 Russian twists (probably fewer due to several looks to Boardman asking about the time). The doctor today confidently said he did not think I had a stress fracture nor did anything show on the X-ray nor did he suggest a bone scan. He did, however make the valid point that if it seriously bothers me I cannot be on and off with running and cross training, nursing the injury the whole time because that could go on for a year.
