Cliff's Hunt + 4x300 + adladl

August 5, 2014 (Night)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: perfect: 80s, dry

Comments:
Cliff led the hunt. Late start, cuz Dr Choi was super-late. Left around 6:30, jogging EASY down Emerald St (from Lewis') past some cool houses, straight to Hayward. I hadn't BEEN to Hayward all year! Cliff had the idea of simply "running a 400 kind of hard", but I wanted to make it more fun, so we split the fellas in teams of three:

me, Cliff, Dr Choi
Lewis, Mr Endicott, Tommy

Tommy and Choi led off. Neither is very fast, but Dr Choi is dumber: he ran BAREFOOT. Tommy mopped the floor with him in the last 100 ("I was slipping", said Choi). Leg two had Lewis widen the gap on our team, though Cliff ran strong. When I got the baton (a handheld Dr Choi was running with), I was gapped by 30+m and Mr Endicott - a former Portland State runner - MOPPED THE FLOOR with me. We ran in lane 5 (so like 440m) and I bet he ran like :70 (to my near 80). I didn't want to push it being that far behind so I didn't.

After that, we continued through campus, back to South EUG, on Amazon - where he made us stop to do pull-ups, dips, push-ups, etc, then back to SEHS, where Cliff got out his "adladl" - this prehistoric spear throwing device from his primative survival classes - and we had a throwing competition!

It was a tad bit annoying to stop and not run all that time, but it was a GLORIOUS night!

I'd had my fill of running, so after we were done, I rode back in Cliff's car with Tommy.

Fun night! Good Deschutes Armory XPA, too.
