Comments:
I left at 8:30am and did three loops that circumscribed the entire town, ending at the Via Roma. Each loop included three hills on which I felt quite confident and like all the strength work I've done came into play. The first loop took 16:15, the next 15:07 and the last 14:41. I battled with the phantoms of Sidwell runners the whole way through and only got more confident. The final loop was at tempo pace and I had no shin pain. A lap around the hotel, eight striders, Boardman core routine with 10 pushups, 25 supermen and one-minute hold. Note: some soreness on the right side of the lower back.
