August 11, 2014 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Ran in the late afternoon, temp was cooling off. Well today was my recovery day from the red eye. A lot more eventful than planned. I didnt end up sleeping very much at all, probably half an hour on each flight. When I drove back from Hartford I immediately took a 3 hr nap. I was so tired It was hard to go to sleep, but I think I got in a good rest, reverted back to EST. Legs felt like complete shit after the flight. I recall last time I did a red eye I tried to do a long run in the afternoon, and couldnt finish it I was so depleted. I just walked all the way back on Fairmount, then passed out in the front yard. Todays run was much better. Started out easy, went up to Pratt Field and did a mile on the track. I went over the barriers for shits, and it felt great. Got into a good rhythm there, so looped back across the street to the quad. I was going to take the trails and then the bike path back, but the bike bath is closed for renovations. I just had to go along the road then and come back down to the house, NBD. Still felt surprisingly good today. Weather was nice, got my legs moving. Just what I needed I guess.
Essentials: Stretch
Stretched and spaced out on the grass when I got back. I was pretty tired, the run wore me out even more, but in a good way. Time to get back to work. Its nice to be back, but I miss Cali. I really had a lot of fun, even if I didnt get many runs in. I always end up missing it, even though when I am there all I can do is complain about all the people and the traffic and how I could never live there. Funny conundrum.
