Exercise Type: Run
Weather: warm, sunny
Comments:
We warmed-up and stretched a bit. Then we went and did the time trial. I wasn't expecting too much before hand because I wasn't feeling it as much as last week and I had eaten quite a bit the night before. I started out feeling pretty good though but my first mile time was 5:51, about 12 seconds slower than last week so I was a little worried. On the sidewalk that short nice old man with the beard told me I had to go faster to catch Elijah and Dakota. So I kept chugging along and eventually came in at the 2 mile at 11:50. So I had run a 5:59 second mile. Last week I ran a 6:07 so that cut into the difference a decent amount. Then, on the last mile I was still feeling pretty good and I don't think I slowed down too much on the hill. I ended up finishing in 18:46. 34 seconds faster than last week, meaning the last 1.15 was 38 seconds faster than I ran it last week. It took 6:56. At the base of the hill I was at 15:51 I think so less than 3 minutes to the end. I'm really happy with that performance. It was my fastest 5k time ever and It's only the start of week 2 of the season. Also our course is one of the harder ones we go on all year so I'm pretty pumped. After that I cooled down on the path with Elijah and Dakota. Then we went and biked.
