Run to the Rec Center

September 6, 2014 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Slept in a lot today. I needed to catch up on sleep. It was really humid out today, so we just lounged around not really doing much. In the afternoon, decided that I wanted to go up to the rec center and start lifting. Seemed like a cool workout to run there, lift, then run home. Its 2 miles the shortest way up Lincoln, so thats a decent warm up. Way out was ok legs felt tired and it was hot out. Went at a pretty easy pace though. Lots of kids out and about on campus which was nice, a contrast from the summer.

After lifting, I was pretty sore it was tough to open the door. I started out really really slow, letting my legs adjust. Caught the downhill on Lincoln and felt a little better there, got my legs moving, but pretty much took it nice and slow home. Had a hard time crossing the st, so I had to go up to the stop light and wait there. That was refreshing. Then I just came right down the hill on Pleasant St.

Essentials: Stretch

Stretched outside, but I was getting itchy from the bugs and grass. I was super sweaty so I jumped right in the shower. Good timing because right after I got in, the thunderstorm came in and there was a lot of thunder and lighting! Would have been exciting to run in. Legs feel ok, but I think the squats will make them a bit sore, since I havnt done weights in so long. Arms will undoubtedly be sore. Good to have the Rec center open on the weekends now though.

Rounding up a little for the trip home. Pace was way slower than that.
