How to Nearly Break Your Season in 3 Easy Steps

September 8, 2014 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: ~75 degres, Warm

Comments:
After being hilariously undermileage last week, and just getting over being sick, I wasn't really looking forward to the tempo today. Nearly snapped my ankle on the pavement at the mile mark for the warmup, so I stopped myself there. Then, after about a mile into the tempo, did the same thing after being distracted by some kids throwing stuff at the front packs. Tempo itself went fine. Real even splits all around 3:00 for each 800m mark except between mile 3-3.5. Totally dropped off there. Brought it in for about 7 effort, and 172 heartrate. During strides, I wasn't paying attention, and a dip about half an inch deep caught my foot and sent me tumbling across Van Horn. I'm told it was an excellent fall, and considering that I wasn't really hurt after it, it must have been. So learn from me, and pay attention to where your feet are. Finished up with strength/essentials. Maybe ice bath tomorrow.
