September 11, 2014 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Gloomy day today, but dont let that fool you the humidity was still brutal. Ran after getting home. Started out real slow just to work into it, but as I went along, realized my legs felt like shit and I wasnt going to speed up much. Some parts I felt good but then slowed down right after. I hit a lot of stoplights today, and that messed up my rhythm. Ran around Amherst College first, and went into the trails a little bit. I felt much better on the uphills today, even though there were parts of the downhill and flats where my legs just felt like rocks. Struggled through but made it the distance.
Essentials: Stretch
Saturated when I got back, so it took a while to stretch out and cool down when I got back. Its just muggy dude. On a random note, I spent the entire afternoon trying to remember the cheer we did before Penn State Behrend a few years ago, cause I remember it was funny. When I was stretching, it randomly came right to me. "C Team, Dream Team, If you see Sandusky scream!!!" Haha classic.
Spent part of the middle of the day reading about Sept 11 on Wikipedia. Also today is known as "Patriot Day" which is very different from "Patriots Day", which is a big deal in Mass (we get off from school that day). Hope everyone had some reflection on the events. Especially with the state of the world now, shit like the Sept 11 attacks happen everyday all around the world, but it is so hard for Americans to understand and internalize that... I think keeping that world view can be beneficial to the way the US conducts itself.
