Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
After not getting a run in yesterday, I really wanted one today. I was just plugging away at work, so I came back at the reasonable time and headed out. After taking a few days off and resetting myself, it naturally took a little to get my legs rolling. I still started out pretty fast. Went around Amherst College to the trails and then out onto Rt 9. Ran over through Fort River Elementary and then headed down the little path to Pelham Rd. Thought I would venture back out to where the RFT was. I had been out there once before, and it was pretty cool, but I got lost easily. I started to feel tired on Pelham, but the trails and softer surface recharged me and I felt really good. Air was crisp and it just felt good. I got to think a little in there as well. Came back all the way on Pelham, which turns into Main St, then came back down the backside of town and past Amherst College. Felt good finishing up, I added just a little up Memorial. I saw some Amherst XC kids running, as well as Derrick Gordon on the UMass Basketball team. I almost ran into him actually. That was cool I wanted to wish him good luck this season. We all support him.
Essentials: Stretch
Stretched outside. Nice and clean stretching. After a while my stomach began to rumble and I had to go inside. Legs feel good, feet still hurt a little from the sunburn though haha. I felt stiff starting out but still it felt good to go the pace I did and I fit in some decent mileage. It was kinda tough running alone today.
Shana Tova (Happy New Year). Last year was interesting, a major transition year. I took it head on and really did what I had to. I learned a lot, but still dont feel like I have fully transitioned... Maybe I will always be clinging on slightly to the past. But that is what this time of year is for, to reflect. I am excited for the new year. I realized I am pursuing my dream and doing what I love to do still, and that wont ever change.
